10 Best Diving Games

Why are diving games so popular? I reckon it's to do with plunging into another world- a beautiful blue world with strange and wonderful creatures. It's also to do with the way of moving underwater- there is none of that gravity which holds us down normally.

Swimming underwater is as close as we get to flying, unless we are lucky enough to be an astronaut.

So, I'm giving you my favorite diving games from the easiest- that younger kids will like- to some pretty tricky ones that need plenty of practice before you can come out on top.

There are some submarine games here as well because diving in a scuba suit and a submarine have a similar thrill.

Beaver Dive

This is great game if you have never played a diving game before. Dive down and get those pearls- avoid the nasty sea creatures and don’t forget to breathe. I liked the easy control on this one. Younger children will like this one.

Diver Duck

This is a simple game but fun for younger kids. You are diving for money and the only control is the mouse. The problem with the game is it is all over too quickly.

Scuba Racer

This game is easier than some of the scuba diver games- but only if you want it to be. You can set the difficulty at different levels. You can also switch the great, all-devouring shark on or off. I never liked that shark.

There are single races and championship to take part in, so all in all there is plenty of game play here.

Pearl Diver

You are a good swimmer? You will need to be. This is free diving- that means you don’t get an oxygen tank, just a lungfull of air. As you can guess there is time limit here. Lungs only carry so much oxygen. While you are underwater you need to swim around all the dangerous obstacles and pick up as many pearls as possible. You need to practice to be good at this game. And like jellyfish.

Mad Shark Game

You are a shark on the run from a cruel laboratory where grisly experiments have driven you mad. The scuba divers are out to get you and mean to finish you off for good. You need to run and run. You also need to eat everything you come across (including people) to keep your strength up. Don't forget you are mad. Very, very mad...

Definitely a fun game- especially when you are feel like biting someone. A warning though- you will need to practice if you are going to get away.This game is quick!

Vipers Reef

You need good reflexes to survive long on this reef. You have a jolt rod for the sharks and you also need to disable a lot of mines.

Sub Commander

Take command of a cool looking submarine and navigate through the dark and dangerous deeps.

This submarine moves along at high speed and the rocks, mines and other obstacles make it hard to get far unless you are alert and quick on the controls. Don’t forget the health packages dropped from above- you are going to need them.

Submarine Combat:

An all action submarine game with torpedoes, nukes and mines to avoid and whole fleets of enemy ships to overcome. Luckily, you have some pretty sharp weapons systems to use including anti aircraft missiles and nukes of your own.

It’s a fight to the death! You are fish food if you lose…

Submarines Attack

Is this a diving game? Err... Well, no. But I liked it. You are firmly on the surface dropping depth charges on submarines far below in the ocean depths, Not surprisingly. they don’t like it and are firing torpedoes back at you, This not a fast and furious game. In fact, it's pretty relaxing watching those depth charges slowly fall. It’s also very satisfying when a depth charge finally smashs into a sub.

Once you get past level one it is less relaxing. Who would have guessed there were so many subs down there?

Extreme Cliff Diving

You aren’t underwater here. You are diving off a very high cliff and as you rush through the air you are collecting coins. The only problem is the floating air mines.

This is a really fun game once you learn to control the diver guy. It feels as if you are rushing through the air and you move around  just like an aircraft with very short wings. If that seems like a lousy description try the game and you will see what I mean.

Sea Lab

You are guiding an intrepid doctor through an underwater world teeming with unfriendly life. Luckily, you have a harpoon gun that will fire arrows at anything nasty that appears. There are a lot of things to collect as well- like weapons upgrades, shields and speed boosters. These will all help you in your quest to save the submarine laboratory. Those shields come in especially handy when the enemy subs start shooting at you.
