Facebook Happy Aquarium Tips and Tricks

Like many other facebook games, there are various levels to work through in this game and the best fish and extra tanks only become available at later levels. You can take your time on each level or use a few of the Happy Aquarium tips and tricks on this page to zoom through those levels quicker. Either way, enjoy your tank!

Fish Swimming Tricks

If you click a fish and select ‘train’ you have an obstacle course mini game to play. If you win the game your fish learn some new skills. You get three tries to make it to a new level each day. The fish learn how to swim in new and interesting ways when you tap on the glass at each level.

Tank Cleaning

If you don’t clean your tank it will turn a sickly green. This is not fun to look at and bad for your fish’s happiness levels. Some people say that fish actually die eventually but I have never seen this ( I keep that tank clean).

How your Fish can die for sure

If you don’t feed your fish for three days they get sick. Three more days without food and they will die. You have been warned.

Achievements in Happy Aquarium

You can get a lot of awards for achievements in Happy Aquarium. These translate into rewards in XP. There are 4 levels for each achievement- bronze, silver, gold and star.

For example you can become a fish wrangler once you have trained many of your fish. If you have raised a lot of fish to adulthood you can become Guppy Guardian.

Breeding Fish

If you click a fish it will tell you what the chances of success are for breeding. You only get 3 chances a day to breed a fish so you need to wait until there is good chance of succeeding.

Extra Tanks in Happy Aquarium

An extra tank can be purchased at level ten and level twenty. They cost 100 coins. The more tanks that you have, the more fish that you can breed or raise. This means more coins and more XP.

Sea Turtles and Squid

Sea Turtles can be adopted from the wall. You need to be lucky to find one or have a good friend to email you a warning that he is going to post one.

Where do sea turtles come from? The Chef, of course.

If you ever meet the Chef you will be able to post a sea turtle or squid to the wall for adoption by one of your friends.

Friends and Neighbors

As in most facebook games, friends and neighbors are important. You can still enjoy the game without them but friends and neighbors give you the opportunity to visit for extra coins and XP. This means faster levelling and more coins to spend on your tank.

Also, without neighbors, you can’t adopt sea turtles or squid. And. of course. you have no one to exchange gifts with so you won't ever have the chance to get some of the better decorations..

Gaining Experience Points (XP)

Feeding fish in small quantities several times a day will get you more XP than feeding large amounts now and again. Try to keep fish about three quarters full.

Every time you clean the fish tank you get XP. There are tools available at the store that help with cleaning. You also get XP for cleaning a neighbor’s tank.

Getting Coins in Happy Aquarium

Click your treasure chest everyday for coins. Also visit your friends’ tanks and click their treasure chests. The coins you are awarded won’t affect what your friend receives.

If you expand your tank and get extra tanks (max number allowed is 3) you will have the chance earn more coins and XP everyday.

Fish= money. So breed, raise and sell. Then breed, raise and sell some more.

Choosing Fish

The more expensive fish to buy from the store usually give more profit when they are old enough to sell. You need to check how quickly they grow and how much they sell for.

Remember not to overstock your tank or there won’t be room for any baby fish.

If you have crabs, starfish etc they will count as living things in the tank, meaning you can have fewer fish.

Getting Pearls

Pearls can be used to buy things from the store. You get one pearl each time you go up a level. You can also buy pearls with a credit card.

Happy Aquarium Cheats

I never use cheats but they are interesting so here are a few of the best.

There is a cheat that involves pushing the clock on you computer forward. If you click up adjust date and time from the tool bar at the bottom of the screen and set the date a few days forward any immature fish will suddenly be fully grown. You can then sell them, get the reward and move on.

There is a sort of cheat shown in the video below to expand your tanks.

Remember if you get caught cheating you might be banned from the game!

If your game is running too slowly

You can try closing any other facebook applications then use the eye icon to change the quality of the graphics. This should help.

How Do I Get Started in Happy Aquarium?

Just in case you are not already playing this game here is how you get started-

• Go to your facebook account (or set one up at facebook.com)
• You can join through any friends who are already playing Happy Aquarium. You will see a link in their Live Feed or News Feed.
• You can also join through the applications menu in the bottom left tool bar on your facebook page. Open the menu. If Happy Aquarium is not there click ‘browse more applications ‘and you will find it.
