The Best Samsung Galaxy S2 External Battery?
By Will Apse
Not so long ago, a mobile phone could run for a week before it needed recharging. Now, many top smartphones cannot last the day.
The problem is that there is so much to do with something like the Galaxy S2.
So if you are a regular gamer, like watching movies or you are a hard working person who uses your phone every moment, an extra source of juice back be a big help.
Luckily there are some neatly designed, easy to carry, external battery devices for the Samsung Galaxy S2 and the best are presented below,
Anker Power Bank
External batteries like the Anker model can recharge a Galaxy two or three times. This will get most people through a weekend and is ideal for passengers on a long car trip.
They will save smartphone power users the need to ease up on use during the day.
The Anker is also useful for recharging all kinds of other mobile devices like the Kindle or the Nook. The secret is in the huge range of tips that are provided. These adapt the juice pack to a huge range of charging ports.
For iPad or iPad 2 users this small power pack can give you an extra 10 hours of movie playing time.
The 5000 mA hour model is a pretty reasonable $30 or so, online.
3200mAh Battery for the S2 from Mugen
Mugen make large capacity batteries for all kinds of smartphone. Their offering for the Galaxy S2 has a 3200mAh capacity which effectively doubles the time you can use your phone.
The downside is that is a big, heavy battery and almost doubles the thickness of the S2. It is also pretty expensive at almost $100.
The last time I checked it was listed as a 'hot item' on the Mugen website and out of stock, so despite the drawbacks it is certainly selling.

Samsung S2 Juice Pack Case
This case is featured on Samsung's US website but it doesn't seem to have made it to retail just yet. So just take this as a heads up- it might be worth looking out for.
There are plenty of cases with inbuilt battery extenders for the Iphone 4. This is the first sight of a Galaxy S2 model. It has a capacity of 1300mAh, which boosts total capacity to 2950mAh.
It looks like a remarkably thin case but there is a noticeable 'hump' at the top that some poeple might not like. Apparently, the cables from the battery extender fit into the charging port on the top of the S2 via this projection.
When this becomes available in the US I will include a link on this page.
Update: it is now available from the UK and they ship to the US: http://www.clove.co.uk/samsung-galaxy-s-ii-i9100-power-pack-extended-battery
A Couple of Other Power Sources that will Help get Your S2 through the Day
Hyperion Batteries
OK, these are not external batteries but a pair of extra internal batteries for a very reasonable $20 is certainly worth a thought if you want to take that long trip without the horror of the blank screen.
ReVive USB Charger
Anyone who has one of these chargers, loves them. They are genuinely fast and they are safe. Smoke will not suddenly start coming out of your phone.
A useful feature is that you can charge two devices via USB at the same time from the twin ports. This is especially useful for tablet owners.
The rounded design makes it tough to break too, even if you keep it your pocket.
Tip for Saving Power
Turn down the brightness of the screen. Switch off GPS, WiFi and Bluetooth. Delete Angry Birds!

Its a ios game Marlo
I recently bought the Anker Power Bank for my Samsung Galaxy S Phone. The 3200 bank is charged under an hour, and it recharges the phone fast. I like the thin, sleek design and the led level indicator. The quality of materials used in this power bank is superior to its competitors in this price range, and you know you're holding a quality item when you receive it. It has a gloss finish comparable to piano keys, it's small enough to fit in your pocket, simple/sleek design. And if that weren't enough, it has a built in flashlight -- and who can't use a good flashlight?! I just purchased a second Anker for someone's upcoming birthday, and plan to buy more at Christmas. I recommend this product for it's reliability, usage, quality, and design.
Thanks for that, Jardin. That is a pretty comprehensive review.
peperuhi, it's android version has already been launched
